What does a porta potty rental cost in Chicago?
Price depends on the unit and how long you keep it. A standard portable toilet is the cheapest option. A deluxe flushable unit costs more. A full restroom trailer sits at the top. Here is the range for our common units.
| Unit | Day | Week | Month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 100-350 | 130-500 | 125-325 |
| Deluxe flushable | 85-1200 | 150-290 | - |
| ADA accessible | 200-400 | 120-240 | - |
| Storage container | - | - | 100-250 |
Delivery is billed separately, usually 100 to 150 dollars for a single-day job. For an event weekend, a standard unit runs about 250 dollars. Want the full breakdown? See our porta potty rental cost page or the per-day pricing. For long jobs, a monthly rental drops the effective rate. Ask us how many units you need before you settle on a number.
How many porta potties do I need for my site?
For construction, OSHA 1926.51(c) sets the ratio. One toilet covers up to 20 workers. From 20 up, you add a toilet and a urinal per 40 workers. At 200 workers, it shifts to one seat and one urinal per 50. Our OSHA portable toilet requirements page lays out the table, and the how many porta potties guide runs the math for events too.
For events, crowd size and hours drive the count. A wedding differs from a festival. We size jobs for weddings, festivals, concerts and marathon and race courses across Chicago. Service interval matters. ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 sets one visit per week as the baseline for up to 10 users over a 40 hour week. Add units or add cleanings when traffic climbs. See how often porta potties are cleaned.
What kinds of units can I rent?
Start with the basic portable toilet. It has a 60 to 70 gallon holding tank and stands about 92 inches tall. Footprint is roughly 44 by 48 inches, so it fits tight lots. Some people call it a porta john, same thing.
Want something nicer? The deluxe flushable unit adds a flush and a sink. For a fancy or luxury feel at a wedding, a luxury restroom trailer or a 2-stall trailer reads like an indoor bathroom. Bigger crowds want a 4-stall or 8-stall trailer. We also carry shower trailers.
Accessibility is not optional. ADA Standards section 213.2 requires at least 5 percent of clustered units, never fewer than one, be accessible. Our ADA accessible portable toilet gives a 60 inch turning circle per ADA Standards section 304.3.1. See the full ADA restroom requirements. Handwashing pairs well: try a handwashing station or a portable sink.
Where can you place a porta potty in Chicago?
Placement needs firm, level ground. ADA Standards section 302.1 calls for stable, slip resistant surfaces, and that helps every unit stay upright. We drop units on driveways, lots and staging areas. Our placement guide walks through clearance, and a rental checklist keeps you organized before the truck arrives in Chicago.
Public right-of-way placement is a separate question. Permit rules for the sidewalk or street are NOT verified for Chicago here, so confirm placement in the public right of way with the city before you set a unit there. We will not guess at a rule we cannot cite. Our permit requirements page explains what to ask. For paint, coating or herbicide work, OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) requires washing facilities on top of toilets, and 29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2) says soap and towels, not just sanitizer. See handwashing requirements.
Do you serve areas outside Chicago?
Yes. We run out to the suburbs and into northwest Indiana. Oak Lawn is 11.1 miles south of Chicago, and Elmhurst sits 18.0 miles west. We reach Downers Grove at 19.2 miles west and Glenview at 24.6 miles northwest.
Heading southeast, Hammond, Indiana is 21.4 miles out and Gary, Indiana is 29.8 miles. To the northwest, we cover Mount Prospect at 25.9 miles. See the full service areas map, or the Oak Lawn page and Elmhurst page for those towns. Need a fast turnaround? We offer emergency porta potty rental and emergency septic service. For anything else, request a quote or contact us.
How much is a porta potty rental for one day?
A standard unit runs 100 to 350 dollars for the day, plus a delivery fee of 100 to 150 dollars. Event pricing runs higher because of setup and short-notice service. See our per-day rental page for a closer look at daily costs.
What is the difference between a deluxe unit and a trailer?
A deluxe flushable unit is one stall with a flush and hand sink. A restroom trailer has multiple private stalls, running water and climate control. Trailers suit weddings and upscale events. Compare trailer costs before deciding.
Do you rent dumpsters and other site gear too?
We do. We rent roll-off dumpsters in 10, 20 and 30 yard sizes, plus temporary fence and storage containers. Bundling them for a construction site is common.
How often does a septic tank need pumping?
A residential septic tank is typically pumped every 3 to 5 years, based on tank size and household. Grease interceptors get pumped at 25 percent of liquid depth. We run septic pumping, tank cleaning and grease trap pumping. Watch for warning signs.
Can I rent for a home renovation?
Yes. A single home renovation porta potty keeps crews on site and off your indoor plumbing. Pair it with a 10 yard dumpster for debris. Read what cannot go in a dumpster first, then book a quote.
